FIJI DICTATOR OPENS JOURNALIST MEETING
The Pacific Islands News Association is meeting this week at Pacific Harbour in Fiji beginning with a series of workshops.
More than 100 journalists from around the region have converged to discuss pertinent issues regarding the media industry.
Illegal Prime Minister Commodore Bainimarama officially opened the meeting yesterday. The interesting point to note is this is the same person who has gagged the Fijian media and breached press freedom on a large scale. Why was the illegal PM chosen to officially open this meeting? Will the hardship faced by Fijian journalists also be covered in workshops during this meeting? It would be interesting to find out.
