FICAC DISCONTINUES CHARGE

LAWYER
Corrupt and suspect anti-corruption body Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption has discontinued a case against a local lawyer. Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority legal officer Faranisese Gavidi was charged by FICAC over allegations of abuse of office.
The case was called in the High Court in Suva and a Nolle Prosequi filed meaning the case will not proceed. FICAC also discontinued charges against FIRCA taxation manager Vimal Krishna. We are not at all surprised by the discontinuance of this case. There was never any case in the first place and this was once again a clear case of persecution against this lawyer. She was not charged for any wrong doing but was a victim of the regime's dirty tactic's to persecute, humiliate and embarrass.
